Ministry of Tourism
Founding Day 2026
History in Motion
THE PROJECT
A journey back to the beginning.
For the Ministry of Tourism’s Founding Day 2026 film, this original concept connects the founding with the present through living frames and a journey in reverse.

My Role
From first idea to approved concept.
I developed the creative concept and art direction for the Ministry of Tourism’s Founding Day 2026 film, shaping its narrative and storyboard from the first idea through approval. The film later evolved in production; this page presents the approved original concept.
The Idea
History is felt, not memorised.
I wanted the audience to feel history through moments that seem alive, rather than read it as dates on a timeline.
The concept moves through a museum-like world where framed scenes continue to live. Each one draws the viewer closer to the origin.
A journey back to where it all began.

The Platform
إرث حي
A living legacy
The past is not left behind in this story. It remains a living presence, shaping who we are today.
Narrative Structure
From the present, back to 1727.
The film begins in the present and travels backwards through connected moments. Each transition brings us closer to Diriyah in 1727, where the First Saudi State began.
Present
1727
The Storyboard
Fourteen frames towards the beginning.
I mapped the idea across fourteen frames. Each transition pulls the viewer further back until the paintings, architecture, and world around them become one continuous journey.

Reflection
Thinking in transitions.
Working on this concept taught me to focus on what happens between the key images. The reverse journey only works when every transition has a reason to lead to the next.
The storyboard let me test that rhythm early and make the direction clear enough to discuss and approve before production.
